Witnesses from both the Carbon Capture and Storage Association and the oil and gas industry have mentioned the importance of meshing in carbon capture and storage to the continued supply of gas and oil—particularly gas for power stations—and  we have mentioned coal for power stations. Do you see any compatible or additional role for heat capture in power supply? What time scales would you put on those processes? For example, do you see that the current applications for new coal and gas power stations might reasonably—in terms of their CO2 content—have a heat capture obligation placed on them in advance of any requirement to develop carbon capture and storage, so that we can have a seamless low-carbon future for both sources of energy?
