The hon. Gentleman raises various points. The triennial review, which was removed from the Bill during yesterday’s sitting, would have created the power to ensure that banks comply with best practice and do not accept the minimum definition. Some light has been shone on the matter, and that is why a statutory requirement for a triennial review is a good idea, to ensure that the banks keep up to the mark.
