Clause 10
Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill
11:15 am

David Hanson (Minister of State, Ministry of Justice; Delyn, Labour)
I am grateful for the hon. Gentleman’s support, and I am sorry if I raised his temperature. In the course of the discussion, I simply quoted his noble Friend in the Lords in support of the Government proposal. I am happy to have his support too and look forward to it in the vote. I will happily look at some of the issues to do with delivery. I have already indicated that we will discuss advice that could be given by the Sentencing Guidelines Council to clarify the issues for magistrates. The hon. Gentleman should go with his gut instincts on Second Reading and support the Government in Committee.
