There is an ancillary point to the one made by the hon. Member for South Derbyshire. If compensation is paid quickly from a 60-day account or one that is locked away for a year, that might change an individual’s tax liability because it was locked away in a scheme designed at least in part to be tax-beneficial. I take it that the hon. Gentleman expects to add that complexity to the considerations as well.
