Clause 1
Serious Crime Bill [Lords]
10:30 am

Vernon Coaker (Parliamentary Under-Secretary, Home Office; Gedling, Labour)
Notwithstanding the right hon. and learned Gentleman’s passion, does he believe that the High Court, which is a public authority for the purposes of the Human Rights Act, will put into place an order that will do the things that he is suggesting to this Committee that it would do, which would be totally disproportionate and at odds with the Human Rights Act? Does he really think the High Court would do that?
