Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Bill
Public Bill Committees, 20 February 2007

Phil Woolas (Minister of State (Local Government & Community Cohesion), Department for Communities and Local Government; Oldham East & Saddleworth, Labour)
I beg to move,
That the Order of the Committee [30 January], as amended [8 February], be varied as follows—
In paragraph 1(g) leave out ‘and 4.30 p.m.’.
The effect of the amendment will be to allow members of the Committee to attend the GLA debate on Tuesday afternoon.

Alistair Burt (Shadow Minister (Communities and Local Government), Communities and Local Government; North East Bedfordshire, Conservative)
We are happy to accept that. It is regrettable that a bit of shuffling is needed because the Department has Bills running at the same time, but that happens in a busy Department. I am sure that we can accommodate the amendment and ensure that we work to a timetable on which we can all agree.

Andrew Stunell (Shadow Secretary of State for the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (Communities and Local Government), Department for Communities and Local Government; Hazel Grove, Liberal Democrat)
I am certainly content with the motion, although I note that we might need to work late occasionally to make up the time.
