I agree entirely. In most Home Office Bills of which I have experience, ''officer'' means police officer, but the world of policing is changing under this Government, and more responsibility is being given to CSOs. As far as I am concerned, ''officer'' means police officer—that is our intention—but we ought to consider carefully what my hon. Friend proposes. I hope that the Minister will accept the amendment.
