Clause 24 - Advance decisions to refuse treatment: general
Mental Capacity Bill
10:30 am

Mr David Lammy (Parliamentary Under-Secretary, Department for Constitutional Affairs; Tottenham, Labour)
I was going to deal with this later, but as the hon. Lady has asked for a response now, I shall say that the effect of the changed circumstances and, most important, clause 26(2) and (3) is that there would be a presumption in favour of the preservation of life, because a doctor would have to be satisfied.
