Does the hon. Gentleman accept that although the benefit of security of supply from the use of indigenous coal can last for hundreds of years, there is, nevertheless, an environmental problem with it? Does he share my disappointment that little seems to be happening with regard to the gasification of coal and other techniques that would make coal's use more acceptable environmentally?
