In light of the previous debate, may I ask simply how the right of appeal operates in a court martial?

Mr Paul Goggins (Parliamentary Under-Secretary, Home Office; Wythenshawe and Sale East, Labour)

I emphasised that there was good collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and the Home Office and close consultation on this matter. However, there is no point in my pretending that I can answer the hon. Gentleman's question at this stage in terms of the technical detail that he requires. I undertake to seek further advice and to confirm that the arrangements are precisely the same as those in the civilian world. I hope that that satisfies him.

Question put and agreed to.

Clause 18 ordered to stand part of the Bill.

Clauses 19 and 20 ordered to stand part of the Bill.

Schedule 3 agreed to.
