I cannot allow the hon. Gentleman to get away with that. There were double-digit interest rates under Conservative Administrations, and the right hon. and learned Member for Rushcliffe did not give us a golden legacy. Hard work and the independence of the Bank of England, along with other economic measures taken by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor, have created the low inflation that we anticipate will be here for many years to come under this Government.
