Clause 39 - Emergency financial assistance
Local Government Bill
Public Bill Committees, 4 February 2003, 10:00 am

Mr Geoffrey Clifton-Brown (Cotswold, Conservative)
I have a simple, short question to ask the Minister. Is it envisaged that the clause could be used in any way to pay combined fire authorities that are out of pocket, as a result of the present firemen's dispute?

Mr Nick Raynsford (Minister of State (Local and Regional Government), Office of the Deputy Prime Minister; Greenwich & Woolwich, Labour)
No.
Question put and agreed to.
Clause 39 ordered to stand part of the Bill.
