When the Secretary of State was asked about that point on Second Reading by my hon. Friend the Member for Havant (Mr. Willetts), his response was:
''I specifically said that we propose to treat income from work in the same way as money from occupational pensions or savings.''—[Official Report, 25 March 2002; Vol. 382, c. 617.]
That is unequivocal as regards his intentions.
