Mr Des Browne (Parliamentary Under-Secretary, Northern Ireland Office; Kilmarnock and Loudoun, Labour)

The clause provides for the interpretation of a number of terms used in the Bill and includes a definition of the term ''magistrates court''. However, it is already defined in schedule 1 of the Interpretation Act 1978, which applies to the Bill. The amendment removes the definition of ''magistrates court'' from clause 86 as it is not considered to redefine the term for the purposes of the Bill.

Amendment agreed to.

Amendment made: No. 79, in page 67, line 32, leave out from '(c. 23)' to end of line 34.-[Mr. Browne.]

Clause 86, as amended, ordered to stand part of the Bill.
