25 October-1 November 2008, to China as a member of the All-Party Parliamentary China Group, at the invitation of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress to consolidate links between the United Kingdom and China. Transport to and from China was paid for by the All-Party Parliamentary China Group from donations previously registered. All internal costs including accommodation, meals and travel were met by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress. (Registered 21 November 2008)
6-11 January 2009, to Las Vegas, USA, to attend and speak on "UK Cyber Security, Citizen Surveillance and Privacy" at CES Government 2009. The visit was made at the invitation of the conference organisers, ICG Government, who paid for my flights and accommodation. (Registered 26 January 2009)
