Is my right hon. Friend aware that his efforts to reconcile normal business interests with the desire of many of us to prevent the display of unsightly and misplaced advertisements will be very much welcomed?
As one who represents one of the seaside resorts most closely affected by this Amendment. I should like to say, first, that my local authority wholly subscribes to the view that the burden should rest where it can most easily be borne, but we think that the thing has been pushed too far.
