That this House takes note of European Union Documents Nos. 15944/08 and ADDS 1 to 4, Commission Communication: Second Strategic Energy Review - An EU energy security and solidarity plan, and 15927/08, Commission Green Paper: Towards a secure, sustainable and competitive European energy network; and further notes the Government's support for appropriate action at the European level, where this would be effective in furthering energy efficiency, security of supply and the development of a liberalised energy market within the Union.
