Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill [Lords] (Programme)

Motion made, and Question put forthwith, pursuant to
That the following provisions shall apply to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill [ Lords]:
Committal
1. The following shall be committed to a Committee of the whole House—
(a) Clauses 4, 11, 14 and 23 and Schedule 2;
(b) any new Clauses or new Schedules relating to the termination of pregnancy by registered medical practitioners.
2. The remainder of the Bill shall be committed to a Public Bill Committee.
Proceedings in Committee
3. Proceedings in Committee of the whole House shall be completed in two days.
4. Those proceedings shall be taken on each of those days as shown in the first column of the following Table and in the order so shown.
5. The proceedings on each of those days shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion at the times specified in the second column of the Table.

7. Proceedings in the Public Bill Committee shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion on Tuesday 17th June 2008.
8. The Public Bill Committee shall have leave to sit twice on the first day on which it meets.
9. When the provisions of the Bill considered, respectively, by the Committee of the whole House and by the Public Bill Committee have been reported to the House, the Bill shall be proceeded with as if it had been reported as a whole to the House from the Public Bill Committee.
Consideration and Third Reading
10. Proceedings on consideration shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion one hour before the moment of interruption on the day on which those proceedings are commenced.
11. Proceedings on Third Reading shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion at the moment of interruption on that day.

Other proceedings
13. Any other proceedings on the Bill (including any proceedings on consideration of any message from the Lords) may be programmed .—[ Liz Blackman .]
